Born circa 1891 at Nelson, Lancashire and living at 20A, Master Street, Burnley at the outbreak of war, he was by trade a butcher.

James Taylor Binns died at 69, Rossendale Road, Burnley, Lancashire on the 25 December 1952. His effects of £2,077 were left to his widow Alice and son Alan Binns (Master Butcher).
