Royal Irish Rifles, serving on the staff of the 8th Infantry Division.

Awarded the Distinguished Service Order in the London Gazette of 3 June 1916.

Served in the South African War 1899 - 1902 and received the Queen's South Africa Medal with four clasps and the KSA with two clasps. Died of wounds on the 11 December 1916 (which he had received on the 3 July 1916).
