3rd (Militia) Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment; 1/5th East Lancashire Regiment and Royal Fusiliers.

Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in the London Gazette of 22 March 1919 (Peace Gazette Number 60).

Born at Burnley, Lancashire circa 1882. Served with the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment (number 449) from the 24 April 1900 until purchasing his discharge on the 22 May 1903 during which time he served in South Africa and earned the Queen's South Africa Medal with bars Cape Colony and Orange Free State and the King's South Africa Medal bars South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902.

He later joined the 5th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment and was mobilised with them on the 5 August 1914 at the outbreak of war, seeing action with them in Egypt and Gallipoli. He then transferred to the Royal Fusiliers as GS/125904 Acting C.Q.M.S.

Green also served as 57178 C.Q.M.S., 965th (POW) Company, Labour Corps and is shown as such on the Burnley Absent Voters List.

He finally rejoined the East Lancashire Regiment (number 3377180) with whom he earned his last medal the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal (GV).

C.Q.M.S. Aaron Green died at Burnley, Lancashire circa May 1944 at the age of 62.
