From the Burnley News of 15 January 1918, PADIHAM MEDALIST. HONOUR FOR FORMER INSTRUCTOR TO SPECIAL POLICE. As we announced in our Wednesday's issue, Sergeant Harry Leigh, of the Motor Transport, wife resides at 14, Stone Moor Bottoms, Padiham, is reported to have won the Military Medal for gallantry in France. He is a brother in law of Sergeant Hasty, of Padiham, who was awarded a similar distinction a few weeks ago. Prior to enlisting, Sergeant Leigh was employed as chauffeur for Mr. H.
