enlisted into the Royal Field Artillery on the 30 December 1915, aged 20 years and 8 months. He gave his address as 20, Yorkshire Street, Burnley, Lancashire.
Discharged on the 21 November 1919.
On the 1939 register he was living at 127, Manchester Road, Nelson, a self employed carter.
William died in July 1974 and was buried in the Wheatley Lane Inghamite Churchyard.
