Congratulations to Corporal Walter Cecil Miles, on the award of the Military Medal. This non commissioned officer, who is in the East Lancashire Regiment, is 31 years of age. His wife and child reside at 25, Pendle View, Foulridge. He enlisted on 1 October 1914, and has been on active service in France over two years. Whilst over on leave recently, Corporal Miles was very reticent about his achievement, and it has not been possible to obtain particulars with respect to the brave deed for which he was promoted Corporal and awarded the Military Medal.
