Miller was a native of Bacup, Lancashire.

Formerly served in the Army Veterinary Corps number SE/7379.

Medal awarded for gallantry during the battles of Cambrai in November 1917.

The 24th Artillery Brigade was in support of the 6th Division and was located in and around the villages of Flesquieres and Marcoing during the battle of Bourlon Wood.
