The Burnley Express reported, PADIHAM LAD'S GALLANTRY. As stated in our Wednesday's issue, another Padiham lad to win distinction on the battlefield is Private George Rotherham (202814), Loyal North Lanc's Regiment., who has been awarded the Military Medal, and is now wearing the ribbon. He is the son of Mr. Rotherham, grocer, of Green Lane, Padiham. Private Rotherham is 22 years of age, and previous to joining the Army was a fruit salesman in the employ of Messrs. Crossley, Burnley. He enlisted at Burnley in February, 1915, and has received his training at Codford, and has been out two years.
