18371 Private Edwin Taylor, MM.
1st Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment. Awarded the M.M., in the London Gazette of 18 July 1917. Taylor was a native of Burnley, Lancashire.
The Northern Daily Telegraph of 1 August 1917 reported:-
BRAVE BURNLEY MAN.
Private Edwin Taylor, East Lancashire Regiment, of 9, Plover
Street, Burnley, has been awarded the Military Medal for an act of bravery,
in the execution of which he was wounded.
This mans brother, 24700 Private Arthur Taylor, 8th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment, died of wounds on the 4 September 1917.
