He
was the son of Rose Bassnett of 52 Rumley Rd, Burnley. He enlisted in
Burnley and served with his uncle, Private Frank Bassnett Snr. M.M. who
survived the sinking of the Royal Edward and also survived the war. Frank
Jnr was connected with St Paul's Church also had been connected with the
Burnley Lads’ Club for four years. His father, six uncles, and two
cousins served with the forces in one capacity or another.

Pte. Frank Bassnett,
junior, 52, Rumley-road, Burnley, whose uncle was reported saved last
Saturday, was only 18 years of age last month, and for about 4 years before
enlisting last year had been connected with the Burnley Lad’s Club.
His father, six uncles, and two cousins are with the forces in one capacity
or another
