Burnley from the front, stated that Pte 240634 Albert Fell of the East
Lancashire Regiment whose parents reside at 18 Hart Street has been killed
in action and the sad intelligence was officially confirmed last week,
death being as having taken place sometime between March 21st and April
2nd. This serves to show that there was continuous fighting at that period
from the commencement of the German push. The deceased who had attended
St Peter’s Day and Sunday Schools, enlisted in September 1914, and
going abroad on November 13th saw service in Egypt and the Dardenelles.

his brothers. Previous to enlisting he was a weaver at Messrs J. R. Cooper’s
