John James Grassham Fort was born in Padiham in 1898 the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Fort .

1901 Census. He is listed as a boarder living in the ecclesiastical parish of Christchurch, Thornton near Fleetwood. Those registered at the address were Wlizabeth Brooks aged 11 Joseph Brooks aged 38 Mary Brooks aged 33 Mary Hannah Brooks aaged 14 Rose Brooks aged 4 Sarah Alice |Brooks aged 13 Elizabeth Ann Fort aged 24 John James “Grascham” Fort aged 3 and Thomas Fort aged 24

Haifa was captured by the Mysore and Jodhpur Lancers on 23 September 1918 and the 33rd Combined Clearing Hospital was moved to the town on 15th October. And was used mainly for hospital burials. It contains 305 Commonwealth War Graves of the the First World War. 80 of them are unidentified.
