Walter Rowland Shaw was the son of Smith and Theresa Shaw of 13 Clegg Street, Burnley. He served originally as Private 24177 in the East Lancashire Regiment.
He was captured and became a prisoner of war. On release he was transferred as Private 114507 to the 52nd Battalion of The King’s Liverpool Regiment. He died aged 22 on 13th February 1919 and is buried at Burnley Cemetery grave A 3026.
