Weavers Death Presumed (Burnley Express 27th July 1918)

Mrs Spencer, 79 Hufling-lane, Burnley, has received word that her husband, Pte Tom Ingham Spencer, who has been missing since September 20th 1917, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. He belonged to the King's Own Royal Lancasters, and was 33 years of age. He joined the Army in June, 1916 and went to France in July 1917. He was formerly employed as a weaver at Woodward's Lane Bridge mill and is on the roll of honour at Brooklands-road Church . Three brothers and three brothers in law are serving.

His only son died the following year in a playground accident
