William Tootell was born

and later of North Street, Public Baths, Burnley. He enlisted at Penrith
260180 in the 8th Battalion of the Border Regiment. He died aged 23 on
12th April 1918. and is commemorated on Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
William Tootell was christened at St Peter’s Church on 26/5/1895.
His parents were Richard Joseph and Ellen (?) of 96 Church Street. His
father’s occupation was listed as joiner.
