Private Alexander Allan
109103 Notts & Derby Regiment
Born 6th April 1899
Lived at 103 Abel Street
Prisoner of war 27th May 1918, Roney ?

I am researching for my wife's grandfather, who is called Alexander Allan. We believe that his father, also Alexander Allan, served during WW1, and was a private in the Sherwood Foresters. From what her grandfather has told us, his father was a career solider. He apparently was captured after serving 2 1/2 years on the front line, and spent the remaining time of the war as a prisoner in a polish/german salt mine.
We believe that he spent the last 7 years of his army career serving in India.
I have noticed that he is listed on your website, along with his father Adam Allan.
