Born on the 16 October 1880 at Burnley, Lancashire the son of John and Elizabeth Bradley (nee Dugdale). Educated at Birmingham University. Married in 1906 to Annie youngest daughter of Caleb Thornber. Served in South Africa with the 3rd Volunteer Active Service Company of the King's Own Royal (Lancaster) Regiment and received the Queen's South Africa Medal with 2 clasps - Transvaal and South Africa 1902. Died on the 3 February 1951 at Bournmouth, Hampshire. (Courtesy of Dave Ingham)
