"My grandad enlisted at Preston 5th of October 1914 into the 8th East Lancs.
At the time he lived on Colne Road Burnley.
He was discharged (392 iv) in March 1916.
The reason for discharge was through suffering from gassing which affected his heart. he died in 1926 from the results of this."
