Wounded by a sniper in Delville Wood
"he lived at 89 Cleaver Street, Burnley
with his parents and younger sister Ethel. He was married in 1919 and
moved to 19 Colville Street where he stayed there he until he died in
the 1960s. Before the war he was an engine cleaner on the railway but
after he lost some use of his hand and worked as a coach driver right
up to his retirement."
