Private 3/23987 George Earnshaw of the 2nd Battalion East Lancashire Regiment, who lived at 5, Stock Street, Burnley. George married Susannah Hirst at Burnley during 1914, they had one child, Mary Jane Earnshaw (Janey), born October 4th 1915 at Stock Street, Burnley. Whilst George was serving out in France his wife sadly died aged 33yrs of Heart Disease.
Also attached is a handmade birthday card sent by George to his only child "Janey" on her 2nd birthday.
