Private William Elliott
331913 752nd Labour Corps
Lived at 16 Thornhill Street, Lowerhouse

William appears on a photograph of an unknown team

His wife Gertrude's brother Samuel Edmondson was a prisoner of war and suffered badly with his health after incarceration.

William and Gertrude went on to have a good life, firstly working as weavers in the mills in Lower House and in 1936 they moved to Blackpool and bought a boarding house.

Their son Arthur (my father) is now 86 and has said that William didn't talk much about the war but we do know that he was in the military police.

The message is on the back but the date is not clear.

With his wife to be Gertrude Edmondson
