Cousin of 513 Louis Hatherley RAMC who died on the Royal Edward in August 1915

 

"Louis began the war as a Private and ended it an Acting Colour Serjeant serving with the 1/5 East Lancs. he lived at 132 New Hall st. and at 49 Bracewell St with Hilda after the war"

April 17, 1917, Louis Hatherley, Age 25 Years, Bachelor, Sergeant 2361, 1/5th East Lancs (Coal Hewer), Residence 114 New Hall Street Burnley, Father's name William Hatherley, Coal miner married:
Hilda Hatherley, Age 26, Spinster, Cotton Weaver, Residence 132 New Hall Street Burnley, Daughter of Louis Hatherley (deceased) (This Louis was born in Devon and died 28 Aug 1911 in Burnley), Coal Miner" in Immanuel Baptist Church.

I see glancing at the book that there was also a remembrance service for Louis here in 1915 - must have been the family church.
One on the Witnesses was Thomas Hatherley, who I would presume is my Great Grandfather Thomas, who was in the family photo I sent you, a brother to William & Louis - bride and grooms parents.
Louis & Hilda appear to have had 5 children - Jack, Evelyn, Ethel, Hazel & Leslie. Evelyn, Ethel & Hazel married men by the name of Powell from Bury, Cowgill & Postlethwaite from Burnley, respectively. Jack & Leslie died in their first year.
