Marriage of Tom Hayman to Margaret Whittaker 1918

I know more about Tom's life after WW1. After the First World War , Tom Hayman pursued a life on the railway. He found work in the railway engine sheds in Padiham and later rose to becoming booking clerk at Southport and then Station Master at both Kents Bank station in Grange over Sands and Bare Lane Station in Morecambe.

I have inherited, from my grandfather Cecil, some of his fathers personal papers and amongst them are some relating to WW1 Including....

- an original WW1 document dated 4-9-17 marked No.10 Ordnance depot which reports a Zeppelin raid on a depot. It includes some other names of people killed in the raid and wounded.

I know that later Tom lived in Burns Street and Milton St , Padiham - where my grandfather - Tom's son, Cecil Hayman was born.

- an original poem that my great-grandmother, Margaret Whittaker wrote to her then finance Tom on 16th November 1917 whilst he was serving in the war. I also have his handwritten response on 12th December 1917.
