Hartley Heap was born on the 25th February 1890 in Brierfield to Hartley Heap and Sarah Driver
He Lived at Hollin Hall, Marsden Height until his marriage in 1912 to Mary Jane Uttley at Wheatley Inghamite Chapel.
Served in France 13/02/1917 to 10/10.1917 and was wounded by shrapnel on 21/09/1917.
Discharged from the Edinburgh War Hospital as unfit for war service. Awarded a pension of 27/6 for 4 weeks and then 13/9 to be reviewed after 48 weeks.
