He died in Burnley in 1946

Born in Preston on the 23rd July 1888. He married Georgine Nicholls in 1910. In 1911 he was living with his father in law as 62 Parkinson St Burnley Wood, Burnley and was working as a Cotton Cloth Looker

Joined the 1/1st East Lancashire) Divisional Cyclist Company in February 1916 The First Line Cyclist Company left Manchester and moved to Colchester on the 4th August 1916. The 66th Divisional Cyclist Company was posted to the Training Centre at Chisledonon the 20th April 1917 and ceased to exist as a separate unit. Over the course of the next few months, men were posted to the Cyclist Base Depot in Rouen as reinforcements for the Corps Cyclist Battalions, with most going overseas by July 1917.

X Corps Cyclist Battalion

McHale was finally posted to France on the 19th July 1917 and iniially served with X Corps Cyclist Battalion.

XVIII Corps Cyclist Battalion

On recovery from his wounds,McHale was transferred to XVIII Corps Cyclist Battalion

After the war he became a Window Cleaner, living at 58 Parkinson Street, Burnley,
