WW1 War medal to 2nd Lt J R Pickthall. Joseph Richard Pickthall was born Feb 23rd 1894 in Burnley. His trade was a Architechural Draughtsman and Surveyor.Educated at Burnley Technical Institute , Alstons College Burnley. His address is given as 44 Thursfield Road ,Burnley, Lancs.Prior to his commision he served as a signal man with the R.N.V.R.He was commisioned into the Royal Engineers in 1917 and his last service before Demob was India 2ovo Sappers and Miners
