Private
Oliver Shambrook
I know Oliver did not join the war in the beginning but rather as the story goes he was forced to enlist in the later years. Is there anyway you could help point me in the right direction of where to find this out and also if possible when he joined and what he did with the RMAC, as he was a pub owner (Derby Inn in Grimshaw Street) and before that he worked in the cotton mills. Oliver
died on the 13th September 1927, aged 41 of Bronchitis, chronic gastritis
and was buried in Burnley Cemetery lot no; 9883 with his wife Alice and
2 of his children - Lilly and Roger on the 17th September 1927. The obituary
was in the Burnley Express on the 17th September.
