His elder brother was Inspector William Dent Whitaker of the Burnley Special Constabulary during WW1.

I was researching his brother (William) Dent Whittaker who was a Inspector in the Special Constabulary in Burnley throughout WW1 and received his Long Service Medal bar 'Great War 1914 - 1918' in 1919 (Burnley Express of 10 December). William in brackets because he is just shown as 'Dent' hence me looking into both brothers service.
