Thomas McGinty, son of Patrick & Margaret (nee O'Hara) McGinty. Born Burnley 03/03/1865. Roman Catholic. Mule spinner in 1881. Married 31/07/1886 in Nelson to Mary Stinchon. Fathered 10 children, 8 sons and 2 daughters. I have him being in the 3rd Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment, West Riding (enlisted in 1899). In 1914 he enlisted for 1 year in Aldershot with the Seaforth Highlanders. I'm not sure but he may have died in 1937 in Barnoldswick.

He was my great-grandmother's younger brother. One of his sons, Joseph McGinty born 1896 in Barrowford was Private 6508 8th Battalion East Lancs Regiment and was killed on 31/05/1917 and is shown on the Arras Memorial and Barrowford War Memorial.
