The announcement included the following citation, "In the course of his second tour of operational service, this officer has taken part in many sorties, involving attacks on vital targets in close support of the ground forces in the battle for Northern France and later in Belgium. During these operations Flight Lieutenant Haworth has displayed great skill and resolution and has played a worthy part in the good results obtained."
