The Burnley Express of 21 February 1945 p4 reported that:

Flying Officer Geoffrey Norton, who was born in 1923 at Hapton and whose home is now at Bradford, he has been awarded the D.F.C. He enlisted in September, 1944, and was commissioned in March, 1944.
