Pilot Officer John Alan Worswick, 106 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in the Supplement to the London Gazette of 16 March 1943. John Alan Worswick was born at Padiham, Lancashire on the 28 June 1914. At the outbreak of war he was a garage proprietor living on the Wirrell, Cheshire. As a member of the Liverpool and District Aero Club he had been awarded the Royal Aero Club Flying Certificate number 19856 on the 28 August 1939, flying both D.H. Tiger Moth and Gypsy Major 130's. His address is shown as "Chesney" Coastgurd Lane, Parkgate, Wirrell, Cheshire. |
