1489381 L/Bombardier Thomas O'Hara,

Royal Artillery.

The Burnley Express of 5 January 1945 reported: -

Prisoner

Previously reported missing in North-West Europe, Lance-Sergt. Thomas O'Hara has written to his wife and two children, who reside at 197, Rosehill Road, Burnley, to say that he is a prisoner of war in a German hospital.
Lance-Sergt. O'Hara joined the Army at the outbreak of the war and served in Norway. He went to France a week after the initial landings. An old boy at St. Mary's School, he was employed at Atkinson's laundry before being called up. His brother George was killed in action in North Africa two years ago. His parents reside at 5, Dalton Street, Burnley.

Note difference in rank - however the rank L/Bombardier seems to be the correct one.
