Padiham Family’s Loss
Second Brother Killed

A patriotic Padiham family have sustained a double loss, a second son having been killed in action on August 16th. On Wednesday Mrs. Adcock, of 15, Garden Street, received the War Office intimation of the death of her husband, Pte. Thomas Adcock, (29370), of the King’s Liverpool Regiment. Pte. Adcock was 30 years of age in July last, was formerly a dataller at Habergham Colliery. He had served his time in the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Militia, and re-enlisted in May of last year, going to the front in September last year. His wife is left with one little boy aged two years and ……… months. His brother, Pte. James Adcock, of the King’s Liverpool Regiment, was killed in action about twelve months ago, and another brother Pte. Benjamin Adcock, of the East Lancashire Regiment, has been discharged suffering form the effects of wounds received at the Dardanelles.
