Killed After Returning From America to Enlist (Burnley News)

Official intimation has been received of the death in action on July 1st of Bomb. John Bradley, a Burnley man, whose mother now resides at New Bedford, U.S.A. Bomb. Bradley was born in Burnley in 1891 and worked as an apprentice at Pemberton’s foundry. He went out to New Bedford with his mother and brother nine years ago. In August of last year he returned to England and stayed a few weeks with his sister, Mrs. Moore, 16, St, John’s Road, Burnley, before joining the Manchester Regt. When in Burnley the family resided at 40, Hulme Street, and attended Mount Olivet Baptist Church, where they were well-known and highly respected..
