Married at the time of his death to Mary Ellen Lord and they had one
child. a daughter Sarah Alice born 1910.
James Richard Burrows, was my uncle. As a young boy in the
1930's my mother took me to meet his widow MARY ELLEN, who lived nearby
in Burnley. I cannot recall seeing his daughter SARAH ALICE.
James was the 4th child of my maternal grandparents, WILLIAM HENRY and
ALICE ANN
(maiden name SIMPSON) who had a total of 8 children.
I believe that WILLIAM HENRY was concerned with the setting up of the
cooperative bakery in
Burnley in the 1890's either as the manager, or in a managerial role .
He was a master baker
and confectioner. My mother JANET was their 5th child.
