In our issue from last Saturday was the report of Lieutenant Norman Clayton
being killed in action. Now news has come through that his brother, Private
Rowland Clayton, has also just died from wounds. previous to enlistment
he was employed in the Burnley Corporation Electricity Department
Son of William and Clara
of Hapton,William was a schoolteacher. They had at least 5 children Walter
Clayton (b 1880), William (b 1883), Frank (b 1885),
Norman (b 1887), Rowland (b 1890)
