Dear Cousin
Just a few lines in answer to you last letter – hoping you are all in the best of health
as it leaves me at present. I returned? for the draft to-day and I think we are going about Thursday, to the Dardanelles they say. You know Mick Green’s brother that was in the East-Lancs well me and him volunteered for this draft on Sunday Morning. If you want to answer this letter you will have to write strait away. Tell Willie he will have to send word to me through you, as we will not get one another letters if he goes to France. I cannot send Lizzie a photo as we are not allowed (out of the camp?) now. I volunteered for this draft so that I could get to Willie and all the other chums. I will
be disappointed if we get sent to France. Well I have asked for it so it can’t be helped now. If I stop the next bullet as good as the last I will come through it alright. Well I think that is about all I can say
so give my best repects to all at Home
From Johnny
