Burnley Lane people will regret to learn that Private Cornelius Dean,
48960, of the King’s Liverpool Regiment, was killed on April 9th.
His wife resides at 34 Colville Street, and his parents at 7 North Street.
He was 35 years of age, and joined the Forces on June 22nd last year.
Before that he was a weaver at Thornbers’ Mill, and attended St.
Andrew’s Church. He is a brother of Harry Dean, the Burnley, Lancashire,
and England cricketer, and famous left-hand bowler, who has been serving
with the artillery for some time. Another Brother, James, is also serving,
and three cousins are serving in addition.
