Herbert Francis Frampton There was a 600 bed hutted military
hospital at Fovant in the First World War. There are 63 burials in the
churchyard with the majority of them being Australian. Many military camps
were set up in the area and many of the regiments stationed in the area
carved huge replicas of their cap badges into the hillside where many
of them can still be seen today
