Burnleys Great War Centenary Sponsored by: Erica Jane Heaps (nee Kippax)

Dan Kippax was one of my great grandfathers brothers. He lived in Gray Street then Holmby Street, with his parents Elijah and Sarah Ann Kippax and his brothers William, Thomas (my great grandfather) and Arthur Taylor. He married Jane Bannister in 1912, I don't know if they had any children.
He began work as a weaver then became the vanman for the laundry where his father worked. His father Elijah also had a long standing dedication and connection to the Haggate Baptist Church where he became a preacher.

What I do know is Dan was buried at Haggate with his parents and two siblings who died very young. My Mum suggested he was injured and came home but all his records say he was killed in action, I really have no idea how he was brought back to Haggate. My Grandad always told me Dan was missing in action, he probably would only know that much, Grandad was 10 years old when Dan died
