Lance/Corporal Fred Noon
18170 2nd Border Regiment
Died of Wounds 26th September 1915, aged 17
Lived at Clarendon Street, Bolton
Commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France
Burnley Express 23rd October 1915
My
father, Fred Noon born in 1919 was named after his Uncle who was killed
at the battle off Loos in 1915.
The
family had links to Burnley as is evidenced from the roll of honour ,
but moved to Bolton at some point.
My father spent some time searching for his uncle's grave during his time
in WW2 and in later years, before finding his commemoration on one of
the panels of the Loos memorial at Dud Corner.
