"My Grandfather was Private Henry Bernard Robinson 37066, 8th Bn East Lancashire Regiment. He died on 23 September 1917 after being wounded the day before in the infamous Hill 60 shell burst in the 3rd battle of Ypres. He is buried in the Communal Cemetery extension at Outtersteene near Bailleul in Nord département . He was a corn salesman before the war and did some part-time acting. He left a widow, Mabel and 4 children Harry, Dorothy, Vincent and Norval. Vincent was my father and ran a Pharmacy at Gannow Top. Norval, the youngest child died aged 92 on 6 January 2009"
