"Died on the 31st May 1918 from wounds possibly caused by shrapnel injuries from a Gas Shell, on the 12th May[ actual wording in "Statement of Services" document says gsw.gas shell and he is buried at St.Sever Cemetery [extension ] Grave No.Q11. F10. He was a cousin of my Grandmother Ethel Whittaker formerly Heys":
