28th September 1918;Western Fr; The “Burnley Pals” Z company led by Capt. Bart Endean spearheaded the 11th Bn. East Lancs Regiment's attack on Hill 63 north east of Ploegsteert Wood following which the enemy evacuated. The cost was heavy the Battalion lost 358 killed, wounded and missing. 50 prisoners were taken, together with a field gun 17 machine guns, 2 trench mortars and one ant-tank rifle.
