"I am researching the 13th Battalion Cheshire Regiment ("Wirral Pals") and I have been struggling to find much info on this man apart from the readily available stuff on Ancestry, SWGC, SDGW etc.
He died at sea 15.4.17 bound for Salonika with 8th Cheshires.
He enlisted at Wallasey as W/719 John Smith and I have an address there for him when he enlisted, but he wasn't on the 1911 census at that address.
I had been thinking that he was an orphan, but then I stumbled on your entry which gives an address of No.81 Laithe Street in Burnley.
Is there anything at all that you can add to this ?"
