Brother of Ernest Spencer Killed in Action 23rd May 1917

"I have received the Birth Cert. for Arthur Spencer today and it records him as being born in Burnley on 19 Feb 1894 at 159 Briercliffe Road, son of William & Annie Spencer. I can only assume that he put Nelson as a place of birth due to having lived there from 22 Apr 1901 when he was registered for admission at Walverden Board School in Nelson."
