ANOTHER NELSON N.C.O.'s DEATH (Colne & Nelson Times 30th November 1917) see also Nelson Leader of the same date

Mrs. Teasdale of 263 Southfield-street, Nelson, has received information of the death in action of her husband, Private H. Teasdale, of the Royal West Kents, who went to France so recently as September last. The deceased non-commisioned officer formerly worked for Messrs. Armstrong Bros., builders and contractors, Brierfield . His officer, writing to Mrs Teasdale on the 16th inst., says : -- " Dear Madam , -- It is with the deepest regret that I have to pen these few lines to say your husband has been killed in action. He was killed instantaneously, and suffered no pain. He was in my platoon, and I have lost a good soldier, and the men a good comrade. Please accept the deepest sympathy of myself and your husbands comrades, and if I can do anything to help you please command me. --Yours sincerely, C.M. Holmes"
