Little Children Weak - Burnley's Great War Centenary Commemorations

On Monday 4th August 2014 over 1000 people attended the "Little Children Weak" centenary event in Towneley Park. A procession of civic leaders, veterans and Burnley Residents, led by torchlight, slowly arced through the park to the Towns War Memorial where a service was held to commemorate the beginning of the Great War. Along the route they passes more than 4000 crosses planted to remember all those from the Borough who gave their lives.
