The following 2 brothers were my great uncles. The brothers of my grandma, my mothers mother.
Firstly Pte George Tipping, of the 9th Scottish Rifles, was 20 years old when he died of wounds he received at Loos. He died at the 33rd casualty clearing station in Bethune on 22nd September 1915. He is buried in Bethune town cemetery. He attended St Leonard’s school Padiham and is remembered on the memorial park cenotaph in Padham town Lancs.

Brother Pte 17710 Alfred Tipping MM KIA 22/10/16 F&F.Another brother Thomas was killed at Habergham Pit in 1904.
Possibly related to Sgt 12681 John William Tipping Missing 13/11/16 F&F
He was a miner,son of Lawrence & Alice 36 Guy st Padiham
